With a heavy heart I have come to the decision to withdraw from this years FIS Snowboard Worldcup. It is my back that causes me too much pain and therefore it is not possible anymore to compete at the level I am aiming for. I am currently the Overall Worldcup leader and it is one of the toughest moments to know that I will not be able to defend the title as the world’s number one racer. But the reality is also that I was competing every event with painkillers and pain in my back, which got worse race after race. I have a strong team behind me and we worked hard and tried everything to get me through the season, but it wasn’t possible anymore. My body needs some time off snow and I am ready to do exactly that. My focus now is to heal my body and to be back on snow and racing as soon as possible. I want to thank everyone involved that helped me through the last months. And also a big thank you to my sponsors that make this journey possible.
